Responsible Gambling

At 980kr, responsible gambling is not a footnote — it is a core part of how the platform is built. This page explains the tools available to you, the warning signs to watch for and where to turn if gambling stops being enjoyable.

Adults 18+ Only Deposit & Loss Limits Self-Exclusion Available Session Time Controls 24/7 Support
18+ Adults Only

This Platform Is for Adults Only

980kr is strictly an adults-only platform. You must be at least 18 years of age, or the higher minimum age required by the operator's licence jurisdiction, to register an account and use the Services. Age verification is applied during the KYC process and 980kr reserves the right to request proof of age at any stage.

Being 18 or older does not automatically make gambling lawful in every jurisdiction. In Pakistan, online gambling is subject to the Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977 and other applicable legislation. 980kr does not hold a licence from any Pakistani government authority. You are solely responsible for understanding the legal position in your location. This page does not constitute legal advice.

Underage Gambling

is illegal and harmful. If you are aware of a minor attempting to access this platform, please contact our support team immediately.

Gambling Should Be Entertainment — Nothing More

For most people, sports betting and casino games are a form of entertainment — a way to add an extra edge of excitement to a PSL match, a UFC fight night or a T20 World Cup fixture. Watching Babar Azam chase down a target in Karachi is already thrilling; a modest stake on the outcome can heighten that experience. That is gambling at its best.

But gambling carries real financial risk, and for some people it can become a problem that affects finances, relationships and mental health. 980kr is committed to making sure the tools to stay in control are always accessible — not buried in settings menus, not locked behind active promotions, and not harder to find than the deposit button.

"Gambling should never be used as a way to generate income, recover financial losses or escape personal difficulties. If it starts to feel like a necessity rather than a choice, that is the moment to use the controls this page describes."

Before you place your next bet, consider these fundamentals: only gamble with money you can genuinely afford to lose; set a budget before you start and stick to it; take regular breaks; and never chase losses with a larger stake. These habits are the foundation of a sustainable and enjoyable gambling experience.

If you are in Lahore watching a late-night cricket match, in Islamabad between work meetings, or anywhere else across Pakistan, the same principle applies everywhere: stay in control, play for fun and know when to stop.

Set a Fixed Budget

Decide on a maximum amount you are comfortable losing — for example PKR 1,000 per week — before you open the platform. Treat it like an entertainment expense, the same as a cinema ticket or a dinner out.

Set a Time Limit

Decide how long you will play before you start. Use 980kr's session-time reminder tool to get a notification when you reach that limit. When the reminder fires, stop — regardless of whether you are ahead or behind.

Never Chase Losses

If you have reached your budget limit for the session, do not increase your stake to try to recover it. Loss-chasing is one of the most common pathways from recreational gambling to problem gambling.

Don't Gamble Under Stress

Gambling when emotionally distressed, under pressure from financial difficulties or using substances impairs decision-making and increases the risk of spending beyond your intended limits.

Accept That the House Has an Edge

All casino games and sportsbooks operate with a built-in margin. RTP figures and betting odds are designed so that, over a large number of outcomes, the operator retains a percentage. Gambling is not a reliable income strategy.

Your Responsible Gambling Toolkit

Every 980kr account comes with the following controls available from account settings from day one — independent of any active bonus or promotion.

Deposit Limits

Set a daily, weekly or monthly maximum deposit amount on your account. Once the limit is reached, no further deposits can be made during that period. Limit reductions take effect immediately; increases may be subject to a cooling-off period.

Loss Limits

Cap the maximum amount you can lose over a set time period — daily, weekly or monthly. When your net losses reach the limit you have set, betting and gaming activity is automatically suspended for the remainder of that period.

Session Time Reminders

Set a session duration limit and receive a pop-up notification when you reach it. Reality checks can be configured to show you how long you have been playing and your net result for the session — giving you the information to make an informed decision about whether to continue.

Cooling-Off Period

Take a short break from the platform without permanently closing your account. Select a cooling-off period of 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. During this time your account is suspended for gambling activity. The period cannot be shortened once applied.

Self-Exclusion

If you feel you need to stop gambling entirely, you can apply for a longer self-exclusion period — from 6 months up to 5 years, or permanently. During exclusion, your account is closed to gambling and cannot be reopened until the exclusion period expires. See the dedicated section below for full details.

Marketing Opt-Out

Choose to stop receiving promotional emails, bonus offers and betting suggestions at any time from your account communication settings. Removing promotional triggers can be an important step in reducing the temptation to gamble beyond your budget.

How Self-Exclusion Works on 980kr

Self-exclusion is the strongest tool available on the platform. Once applied, your account is suspended for gambling, deposits are blocked and any remaining balance is returned after the appropriate checks are completed.

1
Log in and go to Account Settings. Navigate to the Responsible Gambling section of your account dashboard.
2
Select Self-Exclusion. Choose your preferred exclusion period: 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years or permanent.
3
Confirm your choice. The exclusion takes effect as promptly as technically practicable — usually within 24 hours. You will receive a confirmation to your registered email address.
4
The exclusion cannot be reversed early. Once confirmed, the exclusion period cannot be shortened or cancelled. If you need to discuss your situation, please contact support via Live Chat.
5
Do not attempt to re-register during exclusion. Creating a new account during an active self-exclusion period is a breach of the Terms & Conditions and any such account will be closed immediately.

Recognising Problem Gambling

Problem gambling can develop gradually and is not always easy to recognise in yourself. The signs below are commonly associated with gambling that has moved beyond healthy entertainment. If several of these resonate with you, it may be time to use the tools above or to speak to a support service.

Spending beyond your budget Consistently gambling with more than you intended or can afford, including using money set aside for bills, rent or daily expenses.
Chasing losses persistently Returning repeatedly to try to win back money you have lost, often with escalating stakes.
Gambling affecting relationships Concealing gambling activity from family or friends, or conflicts arising because of how much time or money is spent gambling.
Gambling to escape or cope Using gambling as a way to deal with stress, anxiety, depression or other emotional difficulties rather than as a recreational activity.
Inability to stop Repeatedly trying to cut back or stop gambling but finding it difficult to do so, even when you want to.

Quick Self-Assessment

Answer these questions honestly. If you answer "yes" to three or more, we encourage you to review your gambling habits, apply a limit tool or contact a support service. This is not a clinical assessment — it is a starting point for reflection.

Q1 Have you ever gambled with money that was intended for essential expenses such as rent, utilities, groceries or debt repayments?
Q2 Have you ever returned to gambling the day after a loss with the intention of winning back what you lost?
Q3 Have you ever lied to family members, friends or colleagues about how much time or money you spend gambling?
Q4 Have you ever felt restless, irritable or anxious when you were unable to gamble or when you tried to reduce your gambling?
Q5 Have you ever gambled as a way to escape from personal problems, stress or feelings of sadness or anxiety?
Q6 Have you gambled significantly more than you intended to on a given session, even after telling yourself you would stop?
Q7 Has gambling caused any financial difficulty, relationship strain or emotional distress in your life in the past 12 months?
If you answered yes to three or more questions, we encourage you to activate one or more of the account control tools described on this page — deposit limits, a cooling-off period or self-exclusion. You can also contact our support team 24/7 via Live Chat. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Support Is Available

If gambling has become a problem, you do not have to manage it alone. The following types of support are generally available. We strongly encourage anyone who is concerned about their gambling to reach out.

01

Speak to a Counsellor

Professional counsellors who specialise in gambling-related harm can offer confidential, non-judgmental support. In Pakistan, mental health helplines and counselling services are available through a range of health organisations. Ask your local health provider about referral options.

02

Talk to Someone You Trust

Speaking to a trusted family member or friend about a gambling problem can be an important first step. A support network of people who understand your situation makes it significantly easier to apply and maintain limits on your gambling activity.

03

Contact 980kr Support

Our support team is available 24/7 via Live Chat. We can help you apply deposit limits, activate a cooling-off period or initiate self-exclusion immediately. You can also request that we add a note to your account flagging your wish to restrict gambling activity.

04

Recognise It Is Never Too Late

Whether you have been gambling heavily for weeks or years, the decision to seek help and apply controls is always available to you. Problem gambling is widely recognised as a health issue and not a moral failure. Support is out there and recovery is possible.

Note on Pakistani law: Online gambling is subject to local laws in Pakistan, including the Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977. 980kr does not hold a licence from any Pakistani government authority and does not represent that its services are legal in Pakistan. Nothing on this page constitutes legal or financial advice. Users are responsible for assessing the legal status of online gambling in their own jurisdiction before using the platform. The 18+ restriction does not imply that gambling is lawful in Pakistan.

Play Smart. Stay in Control.

The tools on this page are available to every 980kr account holder from the moment they register. We encourage all players across Pakistan — whether you are in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan or Peshawar — to review their gambling habits regularly and use whatever controls feel right for you.

Adults 18+ only, or the higher minimum required by the operator/licence jurisdiction. Gambling involves financial risk. Local laws may restrict gambling. Please play responsibly.
